4 Easy Tips to Help You Utilize Social Media for Your Photography Business

Social media can be daunting for most. Do you struggle with what to post on your business pages?

This post contains affiliate links. You may read my affiliate disclaimer here.

However, your clients and potential clients are there so you need to be also. I know it can be hard to keep up with all the platforms, and that brings me to my first tip.

You Don’t HAVE to Keep up with ALL Social Media Platforms

  • If you are on multiple platforms trying to keep up with promoting yourself, sit down and make a list of what platforms you are on and then take a look at your analytics. Figure out where you have the most activity and that is where your focus and time goes. Don’t try to learn and keep up with all of them all at once. Yes I absolutely think you should learn about each platform and what it has to offer, but don’t stress over it. Focus on the platform that brings you the most activity, and then learn about another platform at your own pace, when you have time.

Not Promoting Your Photography Business, Helps you Promote your Photography Business

  • Get on there and get active! I don’t mean just posting your content. Go into Facebook groups and join discussions. What Facebook groups are local to you? Are you a wedding photographer? Join local wedding resale groups. People post questions and discussions in those groups all the time. Jump in and help them as best as you can. DON’T promote yourself. If that is allowed in the group, absolutely do it, but don’t over do it. Focus on helping people. In turn, they will be thankful, check out your profile and then realize what you do.

Reintroduce Yourself to your Photography Audience

  • At least once per month, maybe even every couple of months, reintroduce yourself on your platforms. Talk about you, your family, what you do in your free time. Your potential clients NEED to see who you are. They NEED to know about you. I’m not saying tell them every detail of your life. But give them little tid bits of things that they can relate to. Are you an iced coffee addict? Do you love talking about shopping at Target? Does your family love the outdoors and enjoy camping and lake activities. The more a potential client can relate to you, the better of a chance for them to book you. This is call the Know, Like, Trust factor. They get to know you, they like you, and when they trust you, they will purchase from you.

Scheduling Tools Are a Lifesaver!

  • USE THE FREE SCHEDULING TOOL IN FACEBOOK! It’s called Creator Studio and it saved me SO MUCH time. You can connect your Instagram account and schedule posts for that platform as well. Here is the link for it:
